Corynn is 3 months old today

I can't believe it's been 3 months since I saw this precious angel being born!  She wasn't herself tonight, but we managed to get a few smiles.  She has discovered that she has a bottom lip and loves to suck on it and make cute noises.  In the words of Grandma, I was "tickled".  She is such a blessing and I love her SO much and I love being her aunt!!

September/October (so far)

SEPTEMBER
It's my favorite time of year again...FALL.  Woohoo!  I'm really enjoying the cooler temperatures and love being able to keep my windows open.  We had a lot going on in September......a family celebration at Pappadeaux for Aunt Sharon's 60th birthday, we took Jenna to see the movie Dolphin Tale, and I even had a much needed girls day with Amy and Christina.  We met for lunch at PF Changs in Highland Village and then shopped till we were ready to drop!  I always enjoy spending time with two of my best friends....just wish we could do it more often.

OCTOBER

Pumpkin patch....
Our first attempt...we got all of the kids together only to find that the patch was closed for the day, so we all went to Larry's and ate and had a nice visit.

Our second attempt.  It was a success!  Except for it being a little too bright so some of the smiles look strange.  haha!

Earlier this month, I participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in honor of my dear friend Ella Edmiston who is battling cancer.  I have prayed for her as much as possible over the last several months along with so many of her other friends and family.  I'd like to think it worked because we got some good news a few days before the race...Ella's cancer is 80% gone!  She has been through a lot and I just pray her suffering is close to being over.   Since the race fell on Ella's birthday, we had a celebration after the race back at her house.  I enjoyed spending the day with her and some of our high school friends who also joined the team....Dannet Vigil and her daughter Brooke, Peggy Gasch, Anna Jiminez, Dena Shea Daniell and her sister LeShon.

Photo recap of the last 5 months....

APRIL

Jenna’s 5th Birthday

The day of her birthday started off with opening an early present, then mani/pedis, lunch with Aunt Shelly and Dana at Bullritos, a movie....Rio, then a spaghetti dinner at home with the family.

She had to take a picture laying on the table...like last year....

Easter at Shelly & Russell's

We did an Easter egg hunt/family celebration for Jenna's 5th and Raegan's 9th birthdays.

Matagorda - Memorial Weekend

This year we rented a condo on the dunes.  We LOVED it...it was clean and decorated so nice.  It was also nice to have a pool to swim in when we were tired of the beach.

JUNE

New couches
After 13 years with the same couches, I finally got new ones.  I'd say it was WAY overdue.  I decided on this set from Gallery Furniture.  The couch is SO soft and cozy!  I love it.  My old set was still very comfy and got a great new home.

Swimming lessons
This was Jenna's second year to take swimming lessons and she did very well.  After two weeks she could retrieve a dive stick from the bottom of the pool and had fun jumping off of the diving board in the deep end.  She LOVES water and loves to swim.

JULY

Gymnastics camp
Jenna attended gymnastics camp for two weeks this summer and loved it.  She said she prefers to take gymnastics over dance, so she will begin full time in Septmeber.  Her dance teacher will not have a studio this year, so I'm glad this is available for her.  She needs something to release all of that energy!

I'm an Aunt!!
Corynn Leigh Shelton was born at 2:31 a.m. on July 21, 2011 weighing 6 lbs, 8 oz and measured 19 inches long.  I was honored to be in the room with Mom, Shelly, and Russell when she was born.  It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!  I am so happy that I was there when she entered this world.  I love her so much already and can't wait to share in the joy of watching her grow.

AUGUST

Meet the teacher
Jenna's kindergarten teacher is Mrs. Wendi Marik...who also happened to be her dance teacher.  She really loves Mrs. Marik and is looking forward to being in her class.  Jenna loved picking out her school supplies and was a little disappointed that she had to leave them at school.  Side note...when we went to Wal-Mart to get her supplies, she was so excited and was dancing in the aisle singing "I'm going to big school...I'm going to big school".  Jason and I looked at each other with an understaning expression that we weren't as happy as she was.  We miss our little baby girl and realize she is growing up so fast.  I'm glad she is excited to go to big school though...it's better than the alternative.

First Official Haircut
I have always cut Jenna's hair, but decided it was time to take her to get it officially done.  I took her to SnipIts in Sugar Land.  She enjoyed the experience.  When she saw her hair, she said "hey, it looks like my Mom's hair".  It turned out great!
